Cutting grooves in concrete

Cutting Concrete Slabs in Ontario

Slab sawing or flat sawing is typically used for cutting trenches in reinforced concrete slab on grade, as well as cutting suspended slab openings both indoor and outdoor. The key types of slab sawing or flat sawing equipment are electrical machines at 600, 460, or 208 volts, or even diesel or gas propane machines. All equipment can saw up to 21.5”. The slab and flat sawing services offered by Sterling Concrete Sawing & Drilling Ltd. include:

  • Sectional sawing of floors, ramps, decks, stairs or pits – prior to removal
  • Precision sawing of floors for machine bases or crane bases
  • Straight line sawing for the installation of trench drains, floor drains, pipes or conduit
  • Shallow sawing to provide precautionary control joints in floors

Slab sawing is efficient for multi-level indoor applications and difficult to access areas including supermarkets, food processing plants, schools, shopping malls and hospitals. It is an effective method for relocating utilities or to create openings for stairways or elevators.
